Since ancient times our breath has been known as our sacred life force. Our breath is central to all aspects of our life.
There are long lineages of breath mastery including the yogic breath of Pranayama, the contemplative practice of mindful breathing through Anapanasati and beautiful and powerful Tibetan breathing techniques such as Tummo breathing. These Eastern practices have formed the basis for modern-day breathwork, including rebirthing breathwork, the practice of conscious connected breathing.
