ANTHOLOGIA

A publication close to my heart, of which I have been honoured to be a contributing author in all issues since its beginning, is Anthologia, published by The Kind Press.

Anthologia means a gathering of flowers from the coupling of the greek words anthos (flower) and legien (to gather). It is a beautiful word to describe a curated collection of literary pieces.

On the surface Anthologia is a collection of short stories, poetry and memoirs. At the heart of it, Anthologia is not only an anthology of work, it is a community of women authors. Together we honour the tradition of women as the holders of story and guardians of wisdom.

Women have for thousands of years been the beautiful rounded river stones for narratives to reach the other side, tenderly passed over from one generation to the next. We change shape over time as the river of life flows over us. Yet we stand firm in our place, with a humble patience to hold our cultural storytelling and support our community to ensure they have a solid foundation to pass over the myths, folklore and memories. We make sure nothing is forgotten or left behind.
